We designed the Tunnel of Light, a custom project for Oxygen Human Playground and their visitors during the end-of-year season 2020-2021
Design
The tunnel shines at night with more than twenty thousand animated lights in its interior, and by day, with reflections of colors that activate with the sun. 24/7 interaction, plug and play, for 60 days.
Hope
Generating enthusiasm and a healthy encounter in public space were the design challenges for the tunnel during an end-of-year season like no other.
OXÍGENO IS ONE OF THE MOST INNOVATIVE URBAN TRADING CENTERS IN THE REGION. CONCEIVED AS A HUMAN PLAYGROUND, MORE THAN A SHOPPING MALL, IT IS A LUNG FOR ITS SURROUNDINGS.
The end-of-year season 2020-2021 like no other required refreshing experiences for an audience eager for hope. With this in mind, we designed a light tunnel in a strategic space in Oxígeno: one of its busiest entrances that connects directly to the food court with the public road and the trails for runners. The bridge over a circular water mirror multiplied the reflections of the 20,000 lights placed in the tunnel, turning the space into a place to be and safely share.
In addition to the animated lights that bring the tunnel to life in the evenings, the design included analog technology to reflect sunlight by colored shapes over the bridge and the green area around it. Thus, the space was given life throughout the day, awakening the curiosity and play of visitors, adding one more reason to visit Oxígeno
