Movistar commissioned us the design of an interactive installation that spoke in geek language, dear to the attendees at the Campus Party Costa Rica.

We wrote a Twitter bot that was able to have 1 on 1 conversations with attendees at the event. An autonomous program that used ironic and challenging language to talk and ask questions that challenged the geeky knowledge of the Campus Party attendees.

With a database of more than 1000 questions, the #movistarbot posed a very tough trivia to give away awards to the geek community. To overcome it, attendees had to answer questions topics such as comics, movies, video games aroud computational logic.

#movistarbot became a trending topic and activated more than 1500 people around the installation.

This activation gave away around 50 prizes during 4 days. To chat with the bot and win a prize, the user had to tweet using a specific hashtag to attract the attention of the bot. Once the conversation was established, the bot chatted only with the user who unlocked it.

The trivia was really difficult, which generated a festive atmosphere around the machine and a whole community sharing questions and answers. In the end, beating the #movistarbot became an interactive and very exciting effort.
